Roasted Coffee
After harvesting, coffee cherries are submitted to several processes until it is transformed into the drink we love. Roasting is one important step because each type of coffee behaves differently inside the roaster machine. Our goal is to bring out all the complexity of drink’s flavor so that it can be perceived right way in your cup.
The coffee roasting is both a science and an art made by a roastmaster. Nélly relies on its professional roastmaster who guarantees that the best coffee attributes are going to be perceived in the drink.
Every coffee bean roasted by Nélly comes from Fazenda da Lagoa and it is carefully selected, scoring +82 according to Specialty Coffee Association. We have 3 varieties of coffee. The roastmaster elaborates the roast profile for each variety, bringing out a blast of flavor to be extracted to your cup.
Green Coffee
Nélly Specialty Coffee also provides to clients green coffee (unroasted) from Fazenda da Lagoa to domestic market as well as international market. We independently export our certified single origin around the world.
In our farm, all the planted varieties goes through different processing even in terms of fermentation or dying, resulting coffees scoring 82+ SCA to 88+ SCA for last year harvest.
Quality control of the green coffee beans harvested and processed at Fazenda da Lagoa is carried out by Nelly Specialty Coffee through SCA protocols of cupping for each batch produced. There cuppings are performed by our own Q-grader professional and by external Q-graders so that is possible to guarantee the need of our customers.

Located in the city of Presidente Olegário - MG/ Brazil, Fazenda da Lagoa already has more than 17 years of history.
The couple from the south of Brazil, Ilmo and Neli Vergütz, together with their three children, started in 2005 the cultivation of an old passion: coffee.
Fazenda da Lagoa now has more than 150 hectares of Catuaí 144 Vermelho, IBC 12 Vermelho and Paraíso MG 2 Amarelo.
